Job Description

Summit Hospitality Services Ltd. is looking for Cleaning Supervisors. Our company provides cleaning services for various commercial establishments, like hotels, motels etc.,

The cleaning supervisor supervises and coordinates daily operations and the work of Janitors, housekeeping staff to ensure that safety, cleanliness and company standards are maintained. Schedules and supervises staff. To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with hospitality operations and have a good understanding of what makes a great customer service. Available to work within opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

Job type: Full time, permanent and indeterminate (at least 40-hours/ week.)

Wages: $20.50 hourly

Start date of employment: As soon as possible

Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality industry.

Minimum Education: Post-secondary education is preferred. Must have high school or equivalent.

Key Duties:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Supervises and co-ordinate work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, attractive rooms in hotels and similar establishments.
  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed.
  • Assigns workers their duties, and evaluates work to ensure conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Actively participate in daily briefing, daily warm-up, and department meetings.
  • Provides orientation, trains, and provides inputs on the evaluation of housekeeping aides/janitors.
  • Inspect sites or facilities to ensure established safety and cleanliness standards are met
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services required such as cleaning, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment
  • Hire and train cleaning staff
  • Prepare work schedule and coordinate activities with those of other departments
  • Prepare budget, estimate costs and keep financial records
  • Handle Guest concerns and react quickly logging and notifying the proper areas.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Report necessary maintenance items.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • May perform certain cleaning duties.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Physical capabilities:

  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking;
  • Standing for extended periods;
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling; Tight deadlines.
